we got big black cars and we got stories

have you ever heard the song "holiday in spain" by the counting crows?

well, the mood set by that song along with the beauty of the piano in the background is the perfect atmosphere to create how breathtaking i found el escorial, a small town near madrid that has el escorial, a monestary that is still in use. the building itself is absolutely fantastic and the quaint town is the type of place i was able to grab a cafe con leche while reading when it was raining outside.

this is probably my favorite place i have been in spain. while i was there, i had some of the best lighting for taking photographs i have had in spain. i wish my photos could do this little pueblo justice.

but regardless, here is a taste:

i may take a holiday in spain, leave my wings behind me. drink my worries down the drain and fly away to somewhere new.
