when i saw the break of day, i wished that i could fly away...

one of the coolest trips i have taken in spain, in the two times i have been here, is my trip to granada. it was fun each time i was there and beautiful both times. la alhambra is one of the most breathtaking places in spain, with gardens that are incredible and some of the most interesting islamic architecture to be found. we went as a study abroad group to this one, so i spent a lot of time with all the people i have been around in salamanca. the trip ended on a bit of a low note, but i must say it truly was one of my best trips in spain.

it helps that the hotel was fantastic. well, here is a taste of la alhambra, but i think everyone needs to go and see it in person.

at least i have this old guitar to get me through december

sorry for the delay in posts.  it has been a bit more rough past couple of weeks with an unexpected trip back home. i am back here in spain however to take you farther on my journey through espaƱa. one really nice break before i knew i would be heading back home was being able to go to switzerland. my girlfriend was a nanny there during part of the summer for a family friend. and they were wonderful and invited her back to stay with them during the school term. and allie was kind enough to invite me along. so that was pretty great. while there, it was really wonderful to be with a family and speak english, sit on a couch and watch a movie. board games were also a big plus. i just really enjoyed myself in morges. and i haven't even mentioned how beautiful it was there during fall...
